Observed the scars on my face?
My tyrant partner, a menace,
Left with no more free space,
No more spirit left in this carcass.
Oft, he walks home, tippling,
Then he thrashes me, crippling,
Leaving all my senses, rippling,
My existence is now so prickling .
I sit in a corner weeping, all night,
My poor offspring see my plight,
But I lack the courage and might,
All the time I am filled with fright.
Now with these brutal scars I thrive,
Every moment, in sorrow, I dive,
No more reasons or will to stay alive,
O God! Carry me to your hive.
