Beware!

woman with face art

Beware!
I’m not what I seem!
These mere shows of dross,
All this glow, this fancy facade,
Engulfs the deep darkness within.

Beware!
This glistening body,
Pleasing outside it beholds,
Shelters a vile, crushing soul,
That crouches and weeps within.

Beware!
A constant fight persists,
Tween my angels and fiends,
Eternal struggle, sufferance lies.
Body led by angels, mind by fiends.

Beware!
A chortle on the outside,
A painful strangulation within,
Urges another dive into the depths,
Of the sorrow and overcast shadows.

Beware!
I’m not what I seem!
My fierce demons running loose,
Remember, all that glistens is not gold,
Beware! my outside’s not to behold…..
